The launch of the FOCUS Research Centre on 1st November went very well. Thank you to the lads from Cheltenham Town Football Club for their time and support. Also thank you to those who took the time to attend and making the day such a success. Finally thank you to Mark of Mark Mitchell Photography for donating his time and services.

The FOCUS Research Centre is now up and running as of July this year and the Cheltenham team are extremely pleased with their new facilities.

On 1st November we will be having an open day and official launch for the new centre, with memebers of Cheltenham Town Football Club supporting us. If you would like to join us please see the below attachments and get in touch with our network administrator Lydia.

Plans are well underway for the new unit opening in the Spring and our staff are preparing for the move.

We have some staff appointments and changes to announce:
Julie Allen, who was working as Clerical Officer at Cheltenham General, is now working as a Data Officer.
Hereford have had some changes this year also. Sophie in the Hereford office is now working as Clinical Trials Officer and Jolanta Pleskacz has been appointed to work as the new Data Officer and Adminstrator for the team.

The 3CCRN will shortly be going through a process of rebranding to bring us in line with the National Institute for Health Research Cancer Research Network (NCRN) branding requirements.

Coming up in 2012

We are in the process of developing a new cancer trials facility at Cheltenham General Hospital funded by FOCUS - “Fund for Oncology Centre Users and Supporters” -due to open in the spring.
It will include three consultation rooms, one examination room and office space for the trials team.

There have been several staff changes and additions across the 3CCRN team over the last few months.

Rachel Carter now works for the Gloucester trials team as their Clinical Trials Officer.
Gloucester have also welcomed a new Clinical Trials nurse, Christian Loveridge, as well as a new data officer Olly Warner.

Cheltenham have a new Senior Clinical Trials Coordinator, Sarah Stanley and also a new bank data officer working with the team, Julie Allen.

Hereford have also aquired a senior trials nurse, Gill Horsefield.

We would like to welcome Rachel Carter to the team as the new Clerical Officer based at Cheltenham General Hospital who started on the 20th September.

Also, welcome to Lydia Vowden who started on the 4th October. She has been appointed as the new Research Network Administrator and PA to Maxine Taylor based at The Chapel in Cheltenham.

The team would like to wish Ellie Moore the very best of luck for Saturday for her wedding to Paul. We hope they have a wonderful day, fantastic honeymoon and a happy future together.

Also, many congratulations to Gemma Ash of the Gloucester team who has recently become engaged to her partner John.
